This Concept Map has information related to: Zoom-Poisoning-Snakebite, Poisoning needs to protect Keep all poisons out of reach of children; Don't keep Kerosene, Acid or other poisons in Cola or soft drink bottles, Snakebite symptom Poisonous Snake Bite:- Marks of the 2 Fangs (two deep dots) with possibly other little marks made by teeth; Non-Poisonous Snake Bite:- 2 rows of teeth marks, but no fang marks, Poisoning treatment Make the child vomitting (for poisoning), put a finger in his throat, give him a tablespoon of syrup of Ipecac, or make him drink water with soap or salt in it; have the child drink milk as much as he can, beaten eggs or flour mixed with water; keep on giving him more milk, eggs, or flour & keep him vomit- ting until the vomit is clear; Do not make vomit in case Poisoning is by swallowing Kerosene, Gasoline, Petrol or strong acids or corrosive substances (lye); If poiso- ning is severe, take him to Hospital, Snakebite treatment Keep him stay quiet; Do not move the part that has been bitten in order to prevent rapid poison spreading through body; Tie a cloth (not very tight) around the limb, just above the bite and loosen it for a moment every half hour; Within half hour of biting:- make a cut into each fang mark about 1 cm long & half cm deep with a clean knife (sterilized in a flame) and then suck and spit out the poison for about a quarter hour; Inject the right kind of snakebite antivenin as early as possible (within 3 hours of biting) and take all precautions to prevent Allergic Shock; Wrap pieces of ice in a thick cloth & pack these around the bitten limb; For sign of infection:- use Penicillin; Seek hospitalization at once for poisonous snakebite; It is dangerous; Do not rely on folk remedies; Do not drink Alcohol after a snakebite, Poisoning by Snakebite, Poisonous things such as Rat poison, DDT, Lindane, Insecticides, Medicine (much swallowed e.g, Iron pils), Tincture of Iodine, Lye, Bleach & Detergents, Matches, Kerosene, Gasolene, Petrol, Poisonous leaves, seeds or berries, Castor Beans etc, Poisoning by swallowing Poisonous things
