40th Foundation Day of RIMS celebrated

The 40th Foundation Day Celebration of RIMS, Imphal was held on the 14th Sept 2011 from 1.30 pm onwards at the Jubilee Hall of the institute. A formal welcome address was made by Prof. N. Damayanti Devi, Chaiman of Reception Committee. The Hon'ble Chief Minister of Manipur Shri O. Ibobi Singh was the Chief Guest, the Hon'ble MP, Lok Sabha Dr. Thokchom Meinya was the President of the function. Two retired professors & Heads of Departments - Dr. RK Bhabanisana Devi and Dr. K. Tomba Singh were honoured. The Medical Superintendent i/c Prof. H Shanti Singh proposed the vote of thanks.

The distinguished invitees included the respected Vice Chancellor of Manipur University Prof. H. Nandakumar Sarma, former Principal of this institute Prof. E. Kuladhaja Singh, the Director of Health Services Manipur Dr. S. Ibomcha Singh, the former Additional Director of Health Services Manipur, Dr. Namaram Sukumar Singh, many retired teachers of RMC / RIMS, many graduates and postgraduates of this institute who are well placed in different government institutes, private establishements and NGOs and earned name and fame in their respective fields.

The Chief Guest, who is also the Vice-President of the Board of Governors, gave assurance to the institute (& hospital which is serving the citizens of Manipur manily) to improve the power and water supply and  complete the construction of roads and drains around the campus. He also announced that he would take up the cause of the institute at the highest level. The President of the function, Dr. Thokchom Meinya, suggested to make CGHS facilities available at RIMS for the numerous beneficiaries.

The celebrations concluded after a 2 hours long colourful and enthralling dance perfomances by the students from all over the country in the evening.
