A State of
the-art SURGICAL HOLMIUM-YAG LASER – AURIGA QI 30 W
installed and inaugurated on 25th May 2012 by
Prof. S. Sekharjit Singh, Director of RIMS, Imphal. In
the inaugural operative session Prof. S. Sekharjit Singh
who is a Urologist operated on two patients with stone
disease of the uninary tract using the LASER machine
along with ureteroscopes and High Definition Endoscopic
Camera and Monitors – Olympus- Visera Pro. Faculty
members and residents of Urology continued with a few
more operations after the inauguration.
The
Commissioning of these new facilities will enable the
Urologist in RIMS, Imphal to deal with urolithiasis in
a minimally invasive way without any punctures or
keyholes even. The AURIGA QI will also be used for
ablation of Bladder Cancer, Prostatic diseases,
Strictures etc apart from applications in other
disciplines.
